Getting started
Bring your products
Import CSV, XLSX, TSV or tabular TXT, review errors and save products.
Before you start
Prepare a table with one product or variant per row. Use separate SKUs when stock must be tracked separately.
Follow the workflow
Start the import
Open Inventory → Bring your products, or Data imports. Choose your file. Supported formats are CSV, XLSX, TSV and tabular TXT.
Check the file settings
Review the header row, worksheet, number format and detected columns. A preview is not a saved inventory record.
Map the columns
Map each column to a product field, custom attribute or variant option, or explicitly skip it. Keep purchase cost and sales price separate.
Review and correct
Run validation. Review duplicate SKUs, required fields, quantities, units and plan limits. Correct invalid rows before confirming. Existing products may be updated by SKU; review which values will change.
Confirm and check the result
Confirm the import and review the saved, failed and remaining rows. Large files are saved in batches. Stopping a job preserves batches already saved; it does not undo them.
What changes in stock?
| Stage or quantity | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Preview and validation | No stock movement is saved. |
| Opening quantity on a new product | Creates opening stock in the selected local location. |
| Updating an existing SKU | Does not add opening stock again. |
| External stock file | Publishes an external stock observation only after the complete file is validated. |
Troubleshooting
Why is a quantity rejected?
Check the product unit and file number format. Pieces and sheets require whole quantities.
Why is the import above my plan limit?
File size limits and subscription quotas are separate. A file that fits the upload limit may still exceed the workspace product quota.
Can I resume a stopped job?
Open the job in Data imports and use the available resume action. Previously saved batches are preserved. Re-uploading or stopping is not a rollback.
