Warehouses

Move stock between warehouses

Prepare, ship and receive a transfer while keeping transit and destination stock separate.

Locally verified: 30 September 2026 · Owner/admin to create a transfer; permitted operators can handle operational steps

Before you start

Two appropriate locations, available source stock and access to the location where you perform the action.

Follow the workflow

  1. Create the transfer

Open Warehouse transfers. Choose the source and destination and add the products and quantities. Review the draft before preparing.

  2. Prepare the stock

Prepare the transfer. Stock is reserved at the source so another operation cannot use the same quantity.

  3. Record shipment

Ship only when the stock has left the source. It moves into transit; the destination has not received it yet.

  4. Receive the actual quantity

At the destination, record what arrived. You can receive part of a transfer and leave the remainder in transit.

  5. Resolve any difference

Review remaining quantities and the available resolution actions. Record a reason for a shortage or correction. Do not create an unrelated receipt just to make the transfer appear complete.

What changes in stock?

Stage or quantityMeaning
DraftNo physical transfer has occurred.
PreparedStock is reserved at the source.
ShippedSource stock moves into transit.
ReceivedThe received quantity leaves transit and enters the destination.

Troubleshooting

Can I receive only part of the shipment?

Yes. Record the quantity actually received. The remaining quantity stays in transit until handled.

Why is Receive unavailable?

Check the transfer status, remaining quantity and destination access. Access to the source alone does not grant destination access.

Does this create an Amazon shipment plan?

No. It records the Makeuno warehouse workflow. It does not create a shipment plan or write stock back to a store.
